Medicare Doesn't Make Phone Calls!

A few weeks ago, I received a phone call from someone who said he was from Medicare.  I knew he was lying.  How did I know?  Because Medicare, The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), does not call people to offer Medicare plans.  Also, the fact that I will not be eligible for Medicare for another ten years.  I encourage you not to be fooled by telesales con artists who say they are from Medicare!  Medicare will not call you on the phone.  Communication from Medicare (CMS) will be done through letters delivered by the good ole USPS.  Frankly, the level of trickery conceived by some who are attempting to sell Medicare products continues to evolve.  I encourage you to use good judgment if you answer the phone.  If you feel uncomfortable about anything a telesales agent says to you, do not take any action.  This would include providing any personal information such as Social Security number, Medicare number, date of birth, etc.  Frankly, I don't encourage anyone to enroll in Medicare products over the phone.  There are always knowledgeable, experienced, local agents who can serve your needs much better.
